Common use of Newborn Children Clause in Contracts

Newborn Children. A newborn child, whether natural born, adopted, or placed for adoption, of the Subscriber or eligible Dependent is covered under this Agreement from the moment of birth to a maximum of thirty-one (31) days from the date of birth. To be covered as a Dependent beyond the thirty-one (31) day period, the newborn child must be enrolled as a Dependent under this Agreement and appropriate premium payment must be received within such period. In the event that a newborn child is not eligible for continuing coverage as a Dependent under this Agreement, the eligible Dependent may enroll or apply for a separate Agreement to be issued by the Plan.
