New Position. When a position not covered under Appendix 1A is established during the term of the Agreement, the Employer shall consult with the Union as to rate of pay. If the Parties are unable to agree within thirty (30) calendar days of their first meeting or other such period as agreed by the Parties, the Employer may implement the classification and the rate of pay. The Union may then refer this dispute to the fast track arbitration process developed by the JJEC (maximum three (3) hours with no outside counsel).

New Position. Any new position created during the life of this Agreement will be added to the Association, providing it is similar to a position heretofore recognized.
New Position. The parties agree that if the University at its sole discretion establishes the position of Safety Officer within the Police Department the parties of this Agreement will jointly petition SERB in accordance with the requirements of Ohio Revised Code 4117 to include the classification within the bargaining unit. The terms of this Agreement will apply to this classification with the exception of specific criteria such as firearms issue and specific uniform items which may not apply. The base rate of this classification will be twenty percent (20%) less than the base rate of Police Officer. In the event that this classification does not meet the statutory SERB requirements for recognition and certification the parties of this agreement may decline any further participation.
New Position. Where a new position is created or if an existing position is substantially modified, the Company shall provide the Union with a job description for the new position as well as the salary/wage rate it intends to apply. The Union may, at its discretion, negotiate with the Company, the salary and position or classification and if agreement cannot be reached, the matter may be referred to arbitration as provided in this Agreement.
