New Language. Beginning in the 2018-2019 school year, the District agrees to convene an annual calendar committee. CSEA is entitled to participate on the committee and provide input in numbers no less than any other group represented on the committee. The annual calendar committee meeting will take place before October 15 of each calendar year in order to assure delivery of the calendar to the Board of Trustees by December 31 of each year. The District and CSEA will negotiate the Classified Bargaining Unit work calendar annually, by December 31 of each calendar year. The parties recognize that nine, ten, and eleven-month employees shall be required to have their holidays align with the scheduled holidays on the school calendar.

New Language. All employees excluding utility clerks will be entitled to a birth­ day holiday. The birthday holiday shall be taken during the week in which the birthday falls. Utility Clerks hired after August 31, 1985 shall be entitled to a Birthday Holiday for Birthdays oc­ curring six (6) months after completion of their probationary period. If an employee's birthday falls during a holiday week, the birthday holiday shall be scheduled for the following week. Newly-hired employees, excluding Utility Clerks, shall be entitled to their birthdate holiday on their birth date in the calendar year following the year in which employed. Utility Clerks shall be paid for holiday work in accordance with Article VIII, Section 7 of this Agreement. New Language. 19.307 The Parties to this Agreement recognize the importance of apprenticeship to the maintenance industry. The Parties agree to support, the employment of apprentices on maintenance projects to reflect acceptable reference agreement ratios. The Company will set a target to employ a minimum of 25% apprentices (distributed evenly between the applicable levels of each trade) of the number of Journeypersons on the project (with 30% identified apprenticeship), unless varied by mutual agreement between the Company and Union as job conditions warrant. The Parties further agree that they will work together to maximize opportunities for local residents to participate in apprenticeship and to maximize opportunities for other underrepresented groups.
New Language. All extra time, overtime and compensatory time must be approved by the immediate supervisor prior to the work being performed. Normally, any extra time worked will be compensated via extra or overtime pay. However, if the work load for a position varies, a substitute is not required for the employee’s absence, and there is limited impact on students, compensatory time may be earned in lieu of extra or overtime by mutual agreement between the unit member and the immediate supervisor. Extra Time: Extra time applies to unit members whose work day is less than 8 hours per day. Extra time is paid at the unit member’s regular rate up to 8 hours but not exceeding 8 hours. Overtime: Overtime shall be paid at the rate of one and one-half times an employee’s rate of pay, when an employee is requested by the Employer to work:

The League and the Union agree to meet, at a minimum, yearly to discuss and report on efforts to recruit, train and identify opportunities for under-represented individuals in such classifications. Topics of discussion may include (1) examining characteristics of the labor pool; (2) sharing information and discussing ways to improve existing initiatives; and (3) developing new initiatives aimed at increasing the employment of under-represented groups, including but not limited to women, people of color, people with disabilities, and LGBTQIA individuals.”
