Morning and Afternoon Breaks. Employees shall be entitled to such morning and afternoon breaks as are observed by the establishment where they work, subject to a minimum break of 15 minutes per day.

Working Set Hours Some employees may be required to work set hours to ensure operational requirements and customer service levels are maintained. Subject to operational requirements, an employee may also elect to work standard hours. TAFE NSW may require an employee to work standard working hours if the employee is not observing the conditions of the FWHA, or if operational requirements determine a need. FLEXIBLE WORKING HOURS AGREEMENT (FWHA) Bandwidth The Bandwidth for all day workers is 6am to 9pm Monday to Friday. Based on operational requirements, employees may be scheduled to perform their day’s work within this timeframe. For example: An employee could be scheduled to work their contract hours (i.e. Seven hours a day), between 7:30am and 3:30pm (inclusive of a one- hour unpaid lunch break).

ROSTER PROVISIONS • Rosters should be prepared for a minimum period of 28 days where practicable. • Rosters should be issued at least seven days prior to commencement of the roster. • Each roster should specify starting and finishing times and meal break of each shift. • A minimum break of eight consecutive hours between each ordinary rostered shift should be given. • Where practical, 48 hours’ notice is required to change a shift. Employees must be consulted for any changes to an employees’ regular roster. • Every effort will be made to negotiate alternative arrangements if proposed roster is incompatible with the rostered worker’s family, religious or community responsibilities.

Learners require a break from work and unless there is good reason they should be encouraged to take their breaks at appropriate times. • It is the responsibility of Management to insure there is always appropriate staff to learner ratio at lunch and breaks. • Staff will supervise all designated areas and ensure that less visible areas, Student area, Yard, Pad and Team Room are supervised. • At the end of Circles unite and breaks, Team leaders will gather their groups and engage in the sessions activities in a timely fashion.
