Common use of Morbid Obesity Clause in Contracts

Morbid Obesity. Benefits are provided for Medically Necessary surgical services for the treatment of Morbid Obesity, as determined by CareFirst BlueChoice. The procedures must be recognized by the National Institutes of Health as effective for the long-term reversal of Morbid Obesity and consistent with guidelines approved by the National Institutes of Health. Benefits are subject to the same terms and conditions as other Medically Necessary surgical procedures. Surgical treatment of Morbid Obesity shall occur at a facility that is designated by the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery as a Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence and is designated by CareFirst BlueChoice.
