MONTH POSITIONS. In accordance with section 7.3 of the agreement, between the Hospital and the Union, employees may, on an individual basis, agree to work a nine (9) month position in units designated by the Employer. The number of nine (9) month positions, FTE and units in which the positions are available is at management's discretion. All existing contractual provisions shall apply unless otherwise provided for herein.

MONTH POSITIONS. A full-time employee assigned to a Less-Than-Twelve (12)-Month position shall have a vacation entitlement based on the twelve (12) month employee entitlement in article 18.01 (i) through (v), but pro-rated to the portion of the year they are regularly scheduled to work [e.g. 10/12ths to 10.75/12ths]. As part of vacation, an employee will receive the Christmas break and mid-winter break with continuation of normal pay, taking into account the statutory holidays which fall during these periods. Where a full-time employee has a vacation entitlement in excess of the number of days required to maintain normal pay during the school breaks, out-of-season vacation may be requested from the Manager of Employee Relations/Services, with a copy to the employee’s supervisor, at least thirty (30) days in advance of the desired vacation period. Out-of-season vacation may be granted only in exceptional circumstances and to a maximum of five (5) days in the school year, having regard to operational and school needs. Should a further positive adjustment be necessary, effective as of the 2002/2003 school year, it shall be made on the first regular pay date in June. Should a negative adjustment be necessary, it shall be divided equally and deducted from the last two (2) regular pays.
MONTH POSITIONS. It is recognized that the Colleges have positions within the bargaining unit from time to time that, because of the nature of the service rendered, require staffing for less than twelve (12) months a year. In such a case, where less than full time employment is identified prior to the time of hiring such employees, the College may effect a layoff of such employees for a period of up to but not exceeding three (3) months in any employment year without regard to the provisions of the Collective Agreement. Notwithstanding the foregoing, seniority and service shall accumulate for all purposes under the Collective Agreement during such period of layoff. This provision shall have no application where the employee in lieu of layoff hereunder has been granted a leave of absence in which case Article 14.2 shall have application. Prior to posting such a position, the College shall notify the Local Union of the circumstances and, where the Local Union requires discussion and explanation as to the basis for such a position being reduced to less than a twelve (12) month basis, it may request a meeting with the College, at which time a full explanation of the circumstances surrounding the designation of the position shall be given.   • New Positions A. Each newly created position shall be assigned by the Employer to the national craft unit most appropriate for such position within thirty (30) days after its creation. Before such assignment of each new position the Employer shall consult with the Union for the purpose of assigning the new position to the national craft unit most appropriate for such position. The following criteria shall be used in making this determination:

  • Open Positions In order to ensure that all interested employees are advised of employment opportunities, notice of job vacancies for regular full or part time positions will be sent to the Union, and job announcements will be posted on designated bulletin boards in the office. In addition, information about all job vacancies will be available to employees by calling the office and in pay envelopes. All regular full or part time vacancies will be posted and filled in accordance with this Agreement. Postings will include position requirements, minimum qualifications, substitute and preferred qualifications (if any) and base rate of pay.

  • Vacant Positions An employee on the reinstatement roster may bid on a vacant position in a different classification in the same manner as any other regular employee pursuant to this agreement.

  • VACANCIES, TERM POSITIONS AND NEW POSITIONS 3001 Subject to section 3002 herein, the Employer agrees to post notices of vacant, term or new positions covered under this Agreement for at least seven (7) days to enable nurses presently in the employ of the Employer to apply for same. Such posting shall not preclude the Employer from advertising outside the site premises. All postings shall state minimum qualifications required, the equivalent to full-time (E.F.T.) and date of closing of the competition. Job descriptions shall be available to applicants on request. 3002 The Employer will be required to post a notice of vacancy for only five (5) days for a vacancy that is created by:

  • Permanent Positions All part-time and full-time positions shall be permanent unless identified as being fixed term in accordance with clause 2.2.5.

  • Temporary Positions A) The Employer may create regular temporary positions for vacation relief for more than one (1) incumbent for up to six (6) months duration.

  • Filling Positions ‌ The Employer will determine when a position will be filled, the type of appointment to be used when filling the position, and the skills and abilities necessary to perform the duties of the specific position within a job classification. Only those candidates who have the position-specific skills and abilities required to perform the duties of the vacant position will be referred for further consideration by the employing agency.
