Common use of Monday through Saturday Clause in Contracts

Monday through Saturday. To the extent permitted by law, Saturday work may be performed at straight- time rates in the event of time lost during the workweek due to one or more of the following conditions: inclement weather, major mechanical breakdown or shortage of materials beyond the control of the Individual Employer, provided the total straight-time hours worked by any Employee in any one (1) week including Saturday make-up work, shall not exceed forty (40) hours. Saturday make-up work shall be performed on a voluntary basis only, and no Employee shall be discharged or otherwise disciplined for his/her refusal to perform such work.

Saturday make-up work shall be performed on a voluntary basis only, and no Employee shall be discharged or otherwise disciplined for his/her his refusal to perform such work.
