Common use of MIXED FUNCTIONS Clause in Contracts

MIXED FUNCTIONS. Where any person on any one day performs two or more classes of work at a higher classification such person, if employed for more than four hours at the higher classification, shall be paid in respect of the whole time during which the employee works on that day at the same rate, and if employed for four hours or less at the higher classification, the employee shall be paid at such classification rate for four hours.

Where any person on any one day performs two or more classes of work at to which a higher classification different rate is applicable, such person, person if employed for more than four hours at on the class or classes of work carrying a higher classification, rate shall be paid in respect of the whole time during which the employee he works on that day at the same rate, higher rate and if employed for four hours or less at on the class or classes or work carrying a higher classification, the employee rate shall be paid at such classification higher rate for four hours.
