Whatever method of compacting backfill is used, care shall be taken that stones and lumps shall not become nested and that all voids between stones shall be completely filled with fine material. Only approved quantities of stones and rock fragments shall be used in the backfill; the Contractor shall, as part of the work done under the items involving earth excavation and rock excavation as appropriate, furnish and place all other necessary backfill material. All voids left by removal of sheeting shall be completely backfilled with suitable materials, and thoroughly compacted. Excavated material which is acceptable to the Engineer for surfacing or pavement sub-base shall be placed at the top of the backfill to such depths as may be specified elsewhere or as directed. The surface shall be brought to the required grade and stones raked out and removed.
Miscellaneous Requirements. 1. The Contractor, including its parent company and its subsidiaries, and any subcontractor, including its parent company and subsidiaries, agree to comply with the provisions of 29 Del. Code, Chapter 58: “Laws Regulating the Conduct of Officers and Employees of the State,” and in particular with Section 5805 (d): “Post Employment Restrictions.”
