Miscellaneous Leave Provisions. Section 1: While on a leave of absence to serve as President of the Indianapolis Education Association, such teacher shall be eligible to continue to receive full benefits under this Agreement, and IPS shall be obligated to pay its portion of those benefits as set forth in this Agreement. While on leave, IPS will adjust such teacher’s compensation consistent with adjustments made for other similarly situated teachers who are not on leave to the extent permitted by law.
Miscellaneous Leave Provisions. A. A teacher who is willfully absent from duty without leave shall forfeit compensation for the time of the absence and shall be subject to dismissal from employment.
Miscellaneous Leave Provisions a. Time spent on leaves of absence with pay shall count toward salary step advancement, for employee benefit accrual, and shall be considered part of the probationary period except as otherwise provided.

Miscellaneous Leave Provisions. 13.15.1 Unless otherwise provided in this Article, a unit member on a paid leave of absence shall continue to receive, during the term of the leave, benefit coverage, and the District shall continue normal retirement contributions. The unit member shall also receive annual salary increments which may be provided during the leave.
