Minima Levels for Academic Support Professionals. For the purposes of determining minimum salaries, each academic support professional shall be assigned a minima level. The minima levels shall be based on an employee's educational achievement relative to his/her position and the number of completed years of service in the bargaining unit as an academic support professional (including years of service elected in accordance with Article 9.1.c.(3) or 9.1.c.(4) if any), in addition to the one or two years of service as a temporary academic support professional that established the employee’s eligibility for entry into the bargaining unit (Unit B) if applicable, in accordance with the following table: Educational Achievement Completed Years of Qualifying Service 0-3 years 4-7 years 8-11 years 12-15 years 16-19 years 20-23 years 24-27 years Masters Degree + 30 hours (in a position requiring or preferring at least a masters degree) Xxxxx X Xxxxx X Xxxxx X Xxxxx X Xxxxx X Level L Level M Masters Degree + 15 hours (in a position requiring or preferring at least a masters degree) Xxxxx X Xxxxx X Xxxxx X Xxxxx X Level J Level K Level L Masters Degree (in a position requiring at least a bachelors degree) Xxxxx X Xxxxx X Xxxxx X Xxxxx X Level I Level J Level K Bachelors Degree + 15 hours (in any position) Xxxxx X Xxxxx X Xxxxx X Xxxxx X Xxxxx X Level I Level J Bachelors Degree or less (in any position) Xxxxx X Xxxxx X Xxxxx X Xxxxx X Xxxxx X Level H Level I The hours mentioned in the above table must satisfy the following: (i) the credit hours must be from an accredited institution, (ii) tuition was paid or a waiver was applied for the course taken, (iii) credit hours were granted for the course taken, and (iv) the course appears on a transcript from an accredited institution. The hours mentioned in the above table need not count for credit toward a degree. An academic support professional with hours or degrees received in each subsequent calendar year that he or she wishes to count in determining his or her minima level must send a transcript(s) documenting those hours or degrees to the Xxxxxxx'x office prior to the following June 30.

Income derived by a resident of a Contracting State in respect of professional services or other activities of an independent character shall be taxable only in that State unless he has a fixed base regularly available to him in the other Contracting State for the purpose of performing his activities. If he has such a fixed base, the income may be taxed in the other State but only so much of it as is attributable to that fixed base.
