Middle School Day. In middle schools, the regular school day for assigned teaching, planning and consultation functions shall be determined by the District and will include a minimum twenty-five (25) minute duty-free lunch period. The District shall determine the appropriate classroom schedule.

Middle School Day. 1. The total school day for the middle school teachers shall be designated by the Board and shall not exceed seven (7) hours. The additional ten (10) minutes added for 2003-2005 shall not be used for additional instructional time. The total student day shall not exceed six (6) hours and twenty (20) minutes. Effective with the 2007-2008 school year, the total school day for middle school teachers shall be designated by the Board and shall not exceed seven (7) hours, six (6) minutes. The additional six (6) minutes added to the day shall be used for additional instructional time. In addition, three (3) of the ten (10) minutes added in the 2003-2006 Agreement shall be used for additional instructional time, for a total of nine (9) added instructional minutes. Middle School Day a. The normal scheduled teaching load in the middle school will be 30 teaching periods and five unassigned preparation periods. The Association will be consulted prior to any adjustment to the middle school day.

In addition, middle school teachers will have an additional planning period each day for team planning, focusing on team, building and District educational issues related to students.

Class Scheduling – Each middle school teacher shall teach five (5) periods of at least fifty (50) minutes, one (1) fifteen (15) minute record homeroom and supervise students during passing time between classes. Alternative schedules may be developed by the administrator as long as they meet State mandated hours of instruction. The Union will be consulted in advance concerning such proposed alternative schedules. When another assignment, such as duty or other educational responsibility which is equivalent to a class is assigned, the teacher will be relieved of one (1) of the five (5) class assignments. The middle school teaching program shall consist of teacher-pupil contact by each teacher of 315 minutes per day. This time shall be utilized for instructional periods, record-homeroom, and passing time between classes. Each middle school teacher shall teach at least five 50-minute periods, one 15-minute record-homeroom and supervise students during passing time between classes. Alternate schedules may be developed by the administration as long as they meet the 315 minute requirement.

  • Middle School At the request of the Superintendent, a middle school teacher may volunteer on a semester basis to teach all the student contact time and be paid one-sixth (1/6) of his/her salary for the semester. This section shall not be used to circumvent the hiring of additional full time teachers.

The School District will adjust its schedule as necessary to enable Students to enroll in and attend the college- level courses provided by College. The School District and College will coordinate the State Student assessment requirements to ensure said assessments are administered without penalty. The School District, School and College will ensure that the School calendar accounts for the required per-semester contact hours for courses. When the instructional delivery is on the College site, it may be necessary for Students to attend classes on days when the School District is closed (e.g., different holiday closures). When Students take classes at the College scheduled on days when School is closed, the School District will ensure that at least one staff member with administrative authority be on call and available to be reached by the College’s Office of High School Programs or other College staff in case of emergency. The designated School staff member will have access to Student emergency contact information. While the College agrees to make scheduling accommodations for required State assessments, including the STAAR and End of Course Exams, all contact hour requirements must be met. For assessments not mandated by the State, the College and School District will come to a mutual agreement on administration dates in order to appropriately manage disruptions of college courses and ensure contact hour requirements are met.

  • Length of School Day 4.4.1 For each school the length of the “school day” shall be determined according to the requirement that students are normally required to be in attendance for two HD, one before noon, the other after noon.

  • ALTERNATE SCHOOL CALENDAR 1. In this article, an alternative school calendar is a school calendar that differs from the standard school calendar as specified in Schedule 1 (Supplement) of the School Calendar Regulation 114/02.

  • Field Trips Orange COUNTY funds may not be used to support any overnight and/or out of Central Florida travel, unless approved by the COUNTY’S Manager of the CCC or designee in advance. The AGENCY must have on file for field trip(s) that each participant, adult or minor, must have a signed release of liability form releasing the COUNTY from any liability. If the participant is a minor, the release must be signed by a parent/guardian. Central Florida is defined as Orange, Osceola, Seminole, Brevard, Lake, Polk, and Volusia Counties.
