Common use of Metric System Clause in Contracts

Metric System. To the extent the Federal Government directs, the Contractor agrees to use the metric system of measurement in its Contract activities, in accordance with the Metric Conversion Act, as amended by the Omnibus Trade and Competitiveness Act, 15 U.S.C. § 205 (a) et. seq.; Executive Order No. 12770, "Metric Usage in Federal Government Programs," 15 U.S.C. § 205(a) note; and applicable U.S. DOT or FTA regulations in accordance with applicable Federal directives. As practicable and feasible, the Contractor agrees to supply products and services with dimensions expressed in the metric system of measurement. Metric usage shall not be required to the extent that such use is impractical or is likely to cause significant inefficiencies or loss of markets to United States firms.
