Member Responsibility. If any bargaining unit member(s) are found in violation of Section 1, such action shall render this entire Agreement and the University’s responsibilities under it, null and void with respect to those bargaining unit members found in violation. Discipline taken as a result of this Section is subject to the grievance procedure in this Agreement.

Member Responsibility. Members shall identify an Authorized Official and alternates; provide contact information including 24-hour access; and maintain resource information made available by the utility for mutual aid and assistance response. Such contact information shall be updated and provided to the Statewide Committee annually or when changes occur. In the event of an Emergency, a Member’s Authorized Official may request mutual aid and as- sistance from a participating Member. Requests for assistance can be made orally or in writing. When made orally, the request for personnel, equipment, and supplies shall be prepared in writ- ing as soon as practicable. Requests for assistance shall be directed to the Authorized Official of the participating Member. Specific protocols for requesting aid shall be provided in the re- quired procedures (Article IV).

Member Responsibility. If the Member receives Covered Services outside of the service area, or care is rendered by a Non- Preferred Provider, the Member is responsible for all utilization management requirements. It is the Member’s responsibility to ensure that providers associated with the Member’s care cooperate with utilization management requirements. This includes initial notification in a timely manner, responding to CareFirst inquiries and, if requested, allowing CareFirst representatives to review medical records on-site or in CareFirst offices. If CareFirst is unable to conduct utilization reviews, Member benefits may be reduced or excluded from coverage.
Member Responsibility. If Provider is responsible for seeking prior authorization from UBH or Payor before receiving payment for treatment of emergency medical conditions and a Member is eligible at the time when Covered Services are provided, then the Member shall not be held financially responsible for payment of Covered Services, other than any copayments, coinsurance or deductibles for which Member is responsible under the terms of the Member’s Benefit Plan, if the prior authorization for emergency medical services has not been sought or received.
