MEDIA SPECIALISTS. It is recognized as desirable that each school site employ a certificated library/media specialist to enhance the school's educational program. TEACHER SAFETY It is recognized by both parties that teachers have a responsibility to be prudent in the time and location they spend at the school site beyond the instructional or work day. Both parties also recognize the District's responsibility to provide facilities which ensure teacher and student safety.

MEDIA SPECIALISTS. Elementary media specialists shall be able to timesheet up to 16 hours of pro-rata compensation per contract year for additional preparation time.
MEDIA SPECIALISTS. A. Media Specialists and/or Librarians shall work a 7¼ hour day at the elementary level and 7¾ hours at the middle school and senior high levels. With the exception of the middle schools, whose schedule is controlled by 7.03, within this framework, all Media Specialists and/or Librarians shall have a 50-minute duty free lunch period and 60 minutes of non-student contact time in the media center/library during the school day as determined mutually between the media specialist/librarian and the building principal.
MEDIA SPECIALISTS. In order to facilitate media services in elementary schools, the elementary media specialists are authorized up to three (3) additional duty days. After consultation with the media specialists, the principal will determine when the days will be utilized.
MEDIA SPECIALISTS. If a Media Specialist believes that the staffing in his/her building media center is not adequate to provide sufficient educational services, he/she will meet with the building principal to review the situation. Every reasonable effort will be made to come to a mutual agreement to satisfy the situation. If no agreement is reached to relieve the situation within five (5) days, the issue will be taken to the Deputy Superintendent who will inform the employee of his/her decision in writing within ten (10) work days.
MEDIA SPECIALISTS. The library media specialist meets all of the standards for certificated classroom teachers as well as those listed below. The library media specialist serves as a unifying element for the entire school learning environment. A library media specialist who demonstrates a satisfactory level of performance:

MEDIA SPECIALISTS. End of the day on the last full day of student contact. Unscheduled time will be used for inventory. Scheduled classes should continue until the end of the school year. The media specialist time that is not scheduled should be used for inventory and shut down responsibilities. Increase teacher clerk time to support this activity beginning May 15th.
