Meal Times Sample Clauses
The Meal Times clause establishes designated periods during which employees are permitted to take breaks for meals. Typically, this clause outlines the duration and scheduling of meal breaks, such as providing a 30-minute lunch break after a set number of work hours, and may specify whether these breaks are paid or unpaid. Its core function is to ensure that employees have adequate time for meals during their workday, promoting health and compliance with labor regulations.
Meal Times. 24-Hour Shift
Meal Times. (1) Employees shall be granted an unpaid morning tea break of thirty (30) minutes at a time nominated by the Employer but no later than five (5) hours after commencing work. Employees shall be granted a further unpaid break of thirty (30) minutes at a time nominated by the Employer. The Employer will consult with the relevant department when deciding the meal breaks.
(2) Meal breaks shall not be counted as part of the daily hours worked.
(3) If an interruption of work for any cause occurs within 1 hour of the scheduled commencement of meal or morning tea break, the Employer may direct that the break be taken immediately.
Meal Times. A meal break of not less than 30 minutes nor more than an hour is to be allowed and taken. An employee will not be compelled to work for more than five (5) hours after starting without a break for a meal. Notwithstanding the above it is agreed that the arrangements in operation at the time this Agreement commences under which employees received paid breaks will continue for the duration of this Agreement.
Meal Times. 5.5.1 Regular meal break
(a) An employee shall be allowed a regular meal break during the ordinary hours of work except where unforeseen extraordinary circumstances arise which make the allowance of the regular meal break impracticable. The meal break shall:
(i) be of a regular duration of not more than one hour or less than 30 minutes;
(ii) commence not earlier than three and one-half hours after an employee’s fixed starting time of the ordinary hours of work; and
(iii) commence not later than five and one-half hours after an employee’s fixed starting time of the ordinary hours of work.
(b) Provided that in respect of 5.5.1(a)(ii) and 5.5.1(a)(iii), where it is reasonable and practicable the meal break shall be arranged to be in balance with the ordinary hours of work.
(c) If the meal break is not allowed, all time worked after the commencement time of the regular meal break until a break without pay for a meal time is allowed shall be paid for at the rate of ordinary time, the payment to be in addition to any payment due in respect of a weekly or casual wage.
Meal Times. 16.1 Delegates must vacate the meal areas when requested to do so by the venue or the Organisers. Failure to vacate tables may be deemed by the Organisers to be a breach of these terms and conditions.

In addition, all employees are allowed fifteen (15) minutes as a rest period any time before or after the lunch break as aligned to operational requirements. This is counted as time worked. Employees who are working under a ten (10) ordinary hour week are responsible for ensuring that they take their meal break times as described above each day. It is a requirement that these employees plan their day to include the unpaid and paid meal and rest times. All Mobile Service Representatives will be responsible for taking their meal and rest breaks and when they return to the site each day they will be deemed to have taken such meal or rest breaks for the purpose of this agreement.
Meal Times. (1) (a) Not less than 30 minutes nor more than one hour shall be allowed and taken for a meal. The lunch period shall be taken between 11.00a.m. and 2.30 p.m. provided that employees commencing work before 6.00am. may take the lunch break from 10.00a.m. No employee shall be required to work for more than five hours without a break for a meal provided that, by agreement by the Company and the employee affected, not more than six hours may be worked without a break for a meal.
Meal Times. In order to provide prompt meal service, the University will designate times for each meal during the Event. Standard dining hours are 7:00-9:00 am for breakfast, 11:00 am-1:00 pm for lunch, and 5:00-7:00 pm for dinner. User’s guests must go through the dining hall line only during these designated meal times. • These dining hours may be expanded or decreased depending on the total guest count for each meal; therefore the User must consult with the University before finalizing meal breaks for the Event. Doing so will ensure that the dining hall is open for service as needed, avoid long lines, and allow the University to provide expedited service. • Meal time will be based upon the total estimated attendance for each meal to be served by the University, including User’s guests and other University guests. • After submittal of the first signed Meal Guarantee, User is responsible for promptly submitting the second signed Meal Guarantee informing the University of an increase or decrease in estimated attendance to facilitate any adjustments in meal times. Failure to do so may result in long lines and/or last-minute changes to the meal times. • The University will strive to accommodate User’s desired meal times, but User is encouraged to maintain flexibility.
Meal Times. 18.1 An unpaid meal break of thirty (30) minutes shall be taken each shift. No employee will be required to work for more than five hours without a meal break.
18.2 In addition, employees who are not shift workers as defined by clause 29 - Shift Work – 38- hour week are allowed fifteen (15) minutes as a rest period any time before or after the lunch break as aligned to operational requirements. This is counted as time worked. Shift Workers as defined by clause 29 - Shift Work – 38-hour week will receive a twenty (20) minute rest period in lieu of the abovementioned fifteen (15) minute rest break and this will count as time worked.
18.3 Employees who are working under a ten (10) ordinary hour work day in accordance with clause 17 - Flexible Time are responsible for ensuring that they take their meal break times as described above each day. It is a requirement that these employees plan their day to include the unpaid and paid meal and rest times.
Meal Times. 2.10.1 A period of one hour shall be allowed to all employees no later then- five (5) hours after commencing work. An employee may however agree to delay a meal break to a time more than 5 hours after commencement without the penalty provided in clause 2.10.3 hereof. A midday meal break shall be allowed commencing at any time between 11.00am and 2.00pm. Notwithstanding anything elsewhere contained in this clause, employees may by mutual consent be allowed either half an hour or three quarters of an hour for each meal interval.
2.10.2 The time of meal breaks shall be fixed by the Consultative Committee and shall not, except in any emergency, be altered unless twenty four (24) hours notice is given to the employee concerned.
2.10.3 An employee called upon to work during a meal interval shall be paid overtime rates for the period so employed and such overtime shall continue until a meal break is allowed.
2.10.4 Notwithstanding anything elsewhere contained in this clause, shift workers shall be allowed a crib time of not less than twenty (20) minutes nor more than thirty (30) minutes which shall be counted as time worked and paid accordingly.
