Common use of Meal/Rest Periods Clause in Contracts

Meal/Rest Periods. Meal periods and rest periods will be administered in accordance with state law (WAC 296-126-092). Employees will be allowed an unpaid meal period of not less than one-half hour when working five hours or more. Employees that remain on duty during their meal period will be compensated for such time at the appropriate rate of pay after completing the Employer’s Time Sheet indicating a “missed meal period”. All employees will be allowed one rest period totaling not less than fifteen (15) minutes on the Employer’s time for each four (4) hours of working time, which may be taken intermittently based on scheduling requirements.
