Common use of Maximum Duration Clause in Contracts

Maximum Duration. Unpaid leaves of absence normally shall not exceed a period of one year, unless otherwise provided by statute. A leave of absence may be extended beyond one year for exceptional situations, upon request, at the discretion of the appointing authority and, for employees in the career service, with written approval by the Civil Service Commission.
