Maternity and/or Parental Allowance. (a) An employee who has been granted maternity and/or parental leave without pay, shall be paid an allowance in accordance with the terms of the Supplemental Unemployment Benefit (SUB) Plan described below providing he or she: has completed six (6) months of continuous employment before the commencement of the leave, provides the Employer with proof of application for and receipt of pregnancy or parental benefits in accordance with section or of the Employment Insurance Act, and signed an agreement with the Employer stating that he or she will to work following the approved leave period (unless modified by a period of other approved leave) for a period equal to that for which an allowance was paid.   • Maternity and Parental Leave Employees are eligible for unpaid leave of absence from employment subject to the conditions in this article. Every employee who intends to take a leave of absence under this article will give at least four weeks' notice in writing to the Employer unless there is a valid reason why such notice cannot be given and will inform the Employer in writing of the length of leave intended to be taken.
