Market Position. 8.1.1. General Trends of the EDA Market (system and RT level) EDA industry exhibits an average growth rate of 20.8 % per year, with strong discrepancies between subdomains: system level grows much faster (27.2 %), while traditional gate level design exhibits only 8% growth. This is still a global average. When going into more details, some specific tools are now on the decline (schematic capture, fault simulation). An interpretation to this may be that there is a very strong demand, facing a reasonably mature offer for design entry and simulation, while the offer for behavioural synthesis is still below customer’s expectation.
