Common use of Market Adjustments Clause in Contracts

Market Adjustments. In order to maintain market competitiveness or to aid in the recruitment or retention of employees, it may be necessary for the University to adjust salaries. Such adjustments will be based on survey data or other facts documenting the threat to retention or inability to recruit at current salary levels. The University shall provide the SEIU District 1199 Executive Board Member/Chair or designee with supporting documentation prior to the effective date of the market adjustments. The award (and amount) of any market adjustments shall be at the discretion of administration and shall not be grievable.
