Mandatory Certifications. All nurses covered by this labor agreement are required to complete and maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications. Registered nurses are required to complete and maintain Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within six (6) months of hire. ED and OR will also maintain Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification. OR shall be provided with PALS and NRP certifications if that patient age population is served by the OR. ED will also maintain Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification. If not maintained, upon notice from the Hospital, the, the Nurse will be taken off the schedule until certification requirement is met. The hospital shall notify nurses at thirty (30) and sixty (60) days prior to expiration of required certifications via hospital email system and in writing mailed to the nurse’s the nurse must submit in writing a reasonable plan to the nurse’s immediate supervisor for the nurse to obtain such certification or re- certification. The CareLearning-HealthStreamHealth Stream, On-line compliance and educational Programeducational Program is mandatory for all Nursing staff (13 mandatory classes per calendar year). Choosingchoosing the classes that will be mandatory will be a joint effort with PNLC, with the exception of compliance required classes. Additional classes may be taken and compensated for on a case-by-case basis as determined by the Hospital.

The nurse may be subject to 1 disciplinary action if certification is not completed in a timely manner. Home Health 2 Nurses are excluded from TEAM and ACLS requirements. Class time will be 3 considered as time worked. Nurses in the bargaining unit will have the opportunity to 4 participate in developing an OB training program at Coquille Valley Hospital through the 5 Nurse Staffing Committee. All full time and part time floor nurses shall be OB qualified 6 (in house) within one (1) year from his/her date of hire and may, at the Hospital’s 7 discretion, be held at his/her current step until such qualification is obtained. Newly 8 hired nurses who have not yet obtained OB certification (in-house) by completion of 9 their ninth (9th) month of employment will be provided written notice by the Hospital that 10 such OB qualification must be acquired prior to the completion of the first anniversary 11 year of employment. Nurses who receive such written notice must provide an 12 acceptable work plan agreed to by nurse management for completion of the required 13 OB certification (in-house) by completion of the nurse’s first anniversary year of
