Common use of MANAGEMENT RIGHTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES Clause in Contracts

MANAGEMENT RIGHTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES. Except as specifically limited to this Agreement, the Employer has the right and responsibility to control, change, and supervise all operations, and to direct and assign employees. Such rights and responsibilities shall include, but not be limited to, the selection and hiring of employees, discipline for cause, classification, reclassification, suspension, layoff, promotion, demotion or transfer of employees in accordance with the applicable Washington Personnel Resources Board Rules, establishment of work schedules; and control and regulation of the use of all equipment and other property of the University. The Employer is responsible for establishing and maintaining an appropriate standard of nursing care for patients in this Medical Center. The Employer shall take whatever action as may be necessary to carry out its rights in any emergency situation. Application of this Article shall not preclude use of the grievance procedure as established in this Agreement.
