Lunch, Dinner and Break Periods. Lunch and dinner breaks are taken on the employee’s own time and scheduled at the discretion of the Supervisor. An employee’s request regarding the length of his/her lunch or dinner break (½ hour or 1 hour) will not be unreasonably denied. Paid breaks, not exceeding fifteen (15) minutes, will be arranged and taken in the morning and in the afternoon, or in the afternoon and in the evening.   • Lunch and Break Periods 280. At the request of the Union or the City, City departments will meet and confer regarding the scheduling of break and lunch periods for unit members. Existing departmental practices with respect to break and lunch periods shall continue unless modified after the conclusion of the meet and confer process. Rotating Days Off

  • Meal and Break Periods The unpaid meal period shall be thirty (30) minutes. If a represented employee does not receive this thirty (30) minute meal period, he/she may be relieved at the end of eight (8) hours. If the employee’s work day is not shortened (ie: if he/she works eight and one-half (8½) hours), he/she shall be compensated under the CBA for one-half (½) hour at time-and-a half (ie: paid for 45 minutes). Two 10 (ten) minute breaks shall continue to be provided for each full-time shift.

  • Break Periods The parties agree that the paid rest period contemplated by Article 16(e) shall be taken during times that will not interfere with the operation of the Strong Start Centre.
