Common use of Lunch Breaks Clause in Contracts

Lunch Breaks. Employees scheduled to work 7 hours or more per day will be entitled to a ½ hour paid lunch break. Employees who work less than 7 hours will not be given paid break time. (i.e. an employee scheduled to work 6 hours per day is not entitled to a paid break, therefore if such an employee takes or is scheduled for a ½ hour lunch break during their day, they would be required to be at work for a total of 6 ½ hours, but paid for only 6 hours.)

Lunch Breaks. All Employees scheduled to work 7 working at least five (5) consecutive hours or more per day will shall be entitled to a ½ hour paid an unpaid, duty free, lunch breakperiod of 30 minutes. Employees who work less than 7 hours will not be given paid break time. In such cases, affected Employees will be scheduled for a total 30 minute paid lunch period as part of 6 ½ hours, but paid for only 6 hourstheir normal 8-hour shift.)
