Lunch and Work Breaks. Lunch and breaks shall be cooperatively scheduled by the bargaining unit member and the supervisor – the minimum being a 30-minute unpaid lunch and two 15-minute breaks.

Lunch and Work Breaks. During the work week provided for in Section 6.1, an employee who is scheduled to work seven and one half (7.5) or more consecutive hours shall receive a one (1) hour unpaid lunch period and one (1) paid fifteen (15) minute break. Lunch and work break periods shall be staggered to insure that all offices and departments of the College maintain appropriate service levels for the hours during which the College is open. Provided, however, that all work breaks shall be taken within the first four (4) hours of work in each work day. Full-time employees can combine their lunch period and break on a limited basis not to exceed three (3) times per year with his/her supervisor’s written approval. Full-time employees cannot take their lunch or break the first hour of the work day or the last hour of the work day, except in emergency situations. Part-time employees shall receive one (1) paid fifteen (15) minute work break to be taken only in the first four (4) hours of work in the work day. Part-time employees cannot take their break the first hour of the work day or the last hour of the work day. During the work week provided in Section 6.3, an employee who is scheduled to work eight and one-half (8.5) or more consecutive hours shall receive one (1) hour unpaid lunch period (but may choose to take one (1) thirty minute) unpaid lunch period and one (1) fifteen
Lunch and Work Breaks. An employee on duty shall be entitled to one (1) hour for each eight (8) hour work day for lunch and work breaks, which shall be divided into two (2) fifteen (15) minute periods and a thirty (30) minute meal period which shall be taken at the good judgment of the employee, and as the needs of the Department permit.

  • Work Breaks All employees covered by this agreement shall be permitted ten (10) minutes in the first half and ten (10) minutes in the second half of a shift for a coffee break on the job during regular working hours. If extended overtime is required, additional coffee breaks shall be permitted during such overtime after each two (2) hours following the conclusion of each overtime meal break. However, for a compressed work week schedule, employees shall be permitted a break of fifteen (15) minutes in the first half and fifteen (15) minutes in the second half of such shifts.

  • Work Week and Work Day (a) (Applicable to full-time employees only) The normal or standard work week shall be an average of thirty-seven and one-half (37½) hours, with a normal or standard work day of seven and one-half (7½) hours except in those Hospitals where agreements already provide a standard or normal work week of less than thirty-seven and one-half (37½) hours per week and seven and one-half (7½) hours per day. (Those Hospitals with the lesser required hours shall reflect in the salary rates a pro-rata lesser amount compared with salaries for other Hospitals based on the ratio that the standard or normal hours of work at the Hospital concerned are to thirty-seven and one-half (37½) hours and shall appropriately reflect such hours in this Article). The length of time over which the hours of work per week are to be averaged shall be determined locally and shall be set out in the Local Provisions Appendix.

  • Lunch Breaks The lunch break will consist of a one-half hour (or one hour where scheduled) unpaid break taken mid-way during regular work day. In the event that an employee is required to work during his regular lunch period he shall be allowed a one-half hour lunch period between the hours of ll:30 a.m. and l:00 p.m., otherwise he shall be paid double time for working through said lunch period.

  • Work Day and Work Week (A) The normal hours of work for all full-time employees shall be thirty-five (35) hours per week, or seventy (70) hours per two consecutive weeks. All employees are entitled to thirty-two (32) consecutive hours free from work each week, unless overtime rates are paid, as per Article 29.02.

  • Weekend Work (a) Overtime work on Saturday shall be paid for at the rate of time and a half (1.5) for the first two (2) hours and double time thereafter, provided that all overtime worked after 12 noon on Saturday shall be paid for at the rate of double time.

  • HOURS OF WORK AND WORKING CONDITIONS 16.01 The following paragraph is intended to define the normal hours of work and shall not be construed as a guarantee of hours of work per day, or per week, or of days of work per week.

  • WORK CLOTHING 1. The State shall continue to furnish foul weather gear and work clothing, such as aprons, smocks, shop coats, lab coats, coveralls and boots to employees furnished such clothing in the past. The State shall be responsible for continuing to provide laundering of work clothing where such service is being provided as of the effective date of this Agreement.

  • Lunch Break Each Teacher shall receive each day an uninterrupted and continuous period of not less than forty (40) minutes for lunch, free from supervisory, teaching or other assigned duties (reference: Regulation 298.s. 3, Daily Sessions).

  • Weekend Worker A weekend schedule may be developed in order to meet the Home’s need for weekend staff, and individual employees’ preference for a weekend work schedule. A weekend schedule is defined as a schedule in which a full-time weekend worker works a weekly average of thirty (30) hours and is paid for 37.5 hours at their regular straight time hourly rate. The schedule must include two 11.25-hour tours, which fall within a weekend period as determined by the Home and the Union. An employee working a weekend schedule will work every weekend except as provided for in the provisions below. The Employer and the Union may agree to implement weekend worker position(s) if sixty-six and two thirds’ percent (66⅔%) of the full-time and part-time employees who work in the facility/unit are in agreement. The introduction of that schedule and the manner in which the position(s) are filled, shall be determined by the local parties. This schedule may be discontinued by either party with notice as determined by the local parties. The opportunity for an individual employee to discontinue this schedule shall be resolved by the local parties. Notwithstanding the voting mechanism above, a three (3) month trial period (or longer period, where agreed by the Home and the Union) for a weekend worker arrangement may be implemented without a vote in circumstances where the following additional conditions apply: ▪ An RN (or RNs) volunteers or applies for a weekend worker position and the Home and the Union agrees to accept the request. ▪ The work schedule will be modified to accommodate such a request provided there is no reduction in the regularly scheduled hours of the other RNs in the bargaining unit. ▪ Prior to the conclusion of the trial period, representatives of the Home and of the Union will evaluate and discuss the outcomes. Each Home must have the majority agreement of the full-time and part-time employees who vote on the issue to agree on a trial period of up to six months. Once the trial period is complete, each Home must have a minimum of 66⅔% agreement of the full-time and part-time employees who vote on the issue to continue with the new schedule on a permanent basis.

  • WORK CLOTHES The employer shall provide all necessary work clothes (coveralls, work shoes or equivalent, and insulated coveralls, winter coveralls and rain gear as needed), as well as safety equipment, including personal safety gear. Work clothes and safety gear provided by the company are the property of the company. When a new set of work clothes is provided, the worn set shall be handed in. Used safety equipment as mentioned above shall be properly cleaned before being reissued.
