Low Census Standby. If a low census day is offered and it is uncertain whether the employee will be needed for part of the shift, an employee who agrees to be on standby will be paid standby pay. If an employee has been notified of low census but will be needed and agrees to a later start time on that shift, the employee will not receive standby pay. If the employee chooses not to take off a portion of the scheduled shift, the option will be offered to other staff.
Low Census Standby. Employees may be assigned to either a straight low census or low census standby for either a partial shift or for the entire shift. If the employee assigned LCD standby returns to work at any time during his/her regularly scheduled shift, he/she is paid at 1.5X call back for the hours worked. An employee who reports to work after a partial day straight time LCD is paid straight time for the remainder of his/her regularly scheduled shift. Management reserves the right to cancel the standby LCD employee before the straight time LCD employee for the remainder of the shift.

If a nurse has been notified of low census but will be needed and agrees to a later start time on that shift, the nurse will not receive standby pay. Low Census Standby. Nurses who are subject to low census may be requested to be on standby for that low census shift. If called in, the nurse shall be paid in accordance with the standby (8.5) and callback (8.6) provisions of the Agreement.
Low Census Standby. Because nurses called to work from low census standby will be paid for their scheduled shift as if they had not been placed on standby, such nurses shall not receive standby pay for such shift.

A nurse who reports to work after a partial day straight time low census is paid straight time for the remainder of his/her regularly scheduled shift. The Hospital reserves the right to cancel the standby of a low census nurse before the straight time low census nurse for the remainder of the shift.
Low Census Standby. At the Hospital’s discretion, employees who have been low censused may be placed on standby. Staff who are subject to low census may use earned personal holidays or earned vacation in increments not to exceed the length of the regularly scheduled shift and such paid time shall nevertheless count in the low census rotation. Employees called into work from low census standby shall be paid at the appropriate rate which will not necessarily be overtime unless such hours otherwise meet the definition of overtime under Section 7.3.
Low Census Standby. Low census standby will be voluntary, subject to discussion of the necessity for mandatory standby at Conference Committee if the voluntary system is judged to not meet staffing needs. All nursing staff will be paid time and one-half (1½x) for all hours worked, with a minimum of two (2) hours, when called back to work from low census standby.
Low Census Standby. A nurse(s) may be assigned to either a straight CEDO or low census standby (CEDO/Standby) for either a partial shift or for the entire shift. A low census (CEDO) or low census standby (CEDO/ Standby) may be assigned for a partial shift only once per scheduled shift, for a period of time determined at the time the nurse(s) was placed on low census (CEDO) or low census standby (CEDO/Standby), unless requested by the employer. If the nurse assigned low census standby returns to work at any time during his/her standby shift, he/she is paid at one and one-halftimes (1-1/2x) callback for the hours worked until his/her scheduled shift begins. A nurse who reports to work after a partial day straight time CEDO is paid straight time for the remainder of his/her regularly scheduled shift.
