Loss of Holiday. If a member is off without pay because of an unexcused absence either the work day before or the work day after a holiday, he forfeits that holiday pay. An unexcused absence is an absence not covered by approved vacation, accumulated sick leave, and military leave, approved leaves with pay or approved leaves without pay. In addition, holiday pay ceases during any period a member is not being paid his regular salary or wage.

Loss of Holiday. If an employee is off without pay because of an unexcused absence either the work day before or the work day after a holiday, or fails to work scheduled work on the holiday and is unexcused, he/she forfeits that holiday pay. Holiday pay ceases during any period an em- ployee is not being paid his/her regular salary or wage. Where an employee works on the day(s) Columbus Day, President's Day, and/or Veteran's Day are traditionally observed, the employee will receive holiday pay if she/he is available, but not scheduled to work during the payroll periods during which the University observes those holidays.

  • List of Holidays a) The Employer recognizes the following paid holidays: New Year’s Day Labour Day Family Day Thanksgiving Day Good Friday Christmas Day Easter Monday Boxing Day Victoria Day Civic Holiday (deferred to Christmas Shutdown) Canada Day Plus, any other day(s) declared or proclaimed as a Statutory Holiday by the Federal or Provincial Government. The Employer shall post a list no later than December 15th of each year stating on which day the Civic Holiday and any other deferred holiday will be observed.

  • Number of Holidays (The following clause is applicable to full-time employees only) There shall be twelve (12) holidays and these holidays are set out in the Local Provisions Appendix. Should the Hospital be required to observe an additional paid holiday as a result of legislation, it is understood that one of the existing holidays recognized by the Hospital shall be established as the legislated holiday after discussion with the Union, so that the Hospital's obligation to provide the number of paid holidays as noted above remains unchanged.
