Local Preference. If a low bidder is not a local business and a local business submits a bid within 10% of the non- local low bidder, the non-local low bidder and all local businesses within 10% of the non-local low bidder; shall have the opportunity of submitting a best and final offer. Local Preference. On 27 March 1998, the Board of Commissioners adopted a Local Vendor Preference Ordinance. This Ordinance does not apply to construction contracts. However, contractors are encouraged to apply the same method when awarding bids to local and local M/WBE businesses whenever possible in order to promote growth in Chatham County=s economy. NOTE: Local Preference does not apply to Public Works Construction contracts.
Local Preference. The award of this solicitation is subject to Section 2-8.5 of the County Code which, except where Federal or State law mandates to the contrary, allow preference to be given to a local business. For the purposes of the applicability of this Code section, “local business” means the bidder has a valid business tax receipt issued by Miami-Dade County at least one year prior to bid submission, and a physical business address located within the limits of Miami-Dade County from which the vendor operates or performs business. A Post Office Box cannot be used to establish a physical address. As a result of a reciprocal agreement with Broward County, Broward County vendors shall have the same consideration as Miami-Dade County vendors when applying this Local Preference Code section.

A local business, organisation or person is one that: • Is owned and operated by persons who are residents of the council area and pay rates; • Is a registered business or individual that has a principle place of business within the council area; • Has a place of business within the council area which solely or primarily employs persons who are residents or ratepayers of the council area; • Is an organisation within the council area; • Is a resident or ratepayer within the council area.

Local Preference. The School Board of Miami-Dade County, Florida, adopted School Board Policy 6320.05, which gives local preference to businesses located in Miami-Dade County, Florida, when evaluating the lowest responsible, responsive bid or submittal for the purchase of goods and services, professional and construction-related services, in excess of $50,000, or the current formal bidding threshold set by Statute. The preference does not apply to goods or services exempted by statute as reflected in Policy 6320, or prohibited by Federal or State law, or other funding source restrictions.

Local Preference. Except where prohibited by federal or state law, other funding source restrictions, or as otherwise excluded by the Village of Wellington’s Local Preference Policy, if Construction Manager represented itself as a Palm Beach County Local Business or Western Communities Local Business in accordance with the Village of Wellington’s Local Preference Policy, Construction Manager shall be obligated to maintain such status in accordance with eligibility requirements of Village of Wellington’s Local Preference Policy through final completion of the Project. In the event Construction Manager qualified for Local Preference by subcontractor participation, the Construction Manager shall maintain the local subcontractor(s) identified in its response to the Owner’s Invitation to Bid and shall not replace same without the prior written consent of the Owner. In the event Construction Manager needs to replace a local subcontractor, said subcontractor shall be replaced with another subcontractor, which meets the eligibility requirements of the Village of Wellington’s Local Preference Policy, unless expressly agreed in writing by the Owner.
