Common use of Local Negotiating Committee Clause in Contracts

Local Negotiating Committee. (a) The Hospital agrees to recognize a Negoti- ating Committee comprising of one member to be elected, or appointed from amongst employees in the bargaining unit, who have their probationaryperiod. Where the Hospital participates in central bargaining, the purpose of the Negotiating Committee shall be to negotiate local issues as defined. Where the Hospital does not participate in central bargaining, the purpose of the Negotiating Committee shall be to negotiate a renewal of this Collective Agreement. The Hospital agrees that the members of the Negotiating Committee shall suffer no loss of earnings for time spent during their regular scheduled working hours in attending such negotiating meetings with the Hospital up to, but not includ- ing, arbitration.
