Local Bargaining Committee. The Hospital agrees to recognize a negotiating committee comprised of hospital employee representatives of the Union for the purpose of negotiating a renewal agreement (as set out in the Local Provisions Appendix). The Hospital agrees to pay members of the negotiating committee for straight time wages lost from their regularly scheduled working hours spent in direct negotiations for a renewal agreement, up to but not including arbitration. Nothing in this provision is intended to preclude the Union negotiating committee from having the assistance of any representatives of the Canadian Union of Public Employees when negotiating with the Hospital.

Local Bargaining Committee. The Health Centre acknowledges the right of the Union to appoint or otherwise select a negotiating committee of not more than six (6) employees in connection with the negotiations of amendments or renewal of this Collective Agreement and such related matters which properly arise from time to time. However, if the parties agree to one negotiating committee for full-time service, part- time service, full-time clerical and part-time clerical units, the committee may consist of not more than eight (8) employees. The Health Centre will grant one (1) day of prep time allotted for bargaining, paid by the Union for members of the Local Bargaining Committee. Such days will be in addition to the Union Leave of Absence Days provided for in Article N.09 (FT Service).
