Living Allowances. Unless otherwise agreed upon, a Subgrantee must provide a living allowance to full-time Members in accordance with the approved grant application. If a Subgrantee's approved application provides for a living allowance for Members serving less than full-time, the Subgrantee must provide the living allowance in accordance with the approved grant application and the FY 2018 required minimum and maximum living allowance range set for each member position as follows: Service Term Minimum # of Hours Minimum Living Allowance Maximum Total Living Allowance Full-time 1700 $13,732 $27,464 Half-time 900 n/a $14,539 Reduced Half-time 675 n/a $10,905 Quarter-time 450 n/a $7,270 Minimum-time 300 n/a $4,847 Subgrantees are required to pay Members the living allowance as a fixed stipend distributed in increments, such as weekly or bi-weekly, rather than on an hourly basis. The living allowance is not a wage and must not be paid based upon an hourly calculation. Payments shall not fluctuate based on the number of hours served in a particular time period, and must cease when a Member concludes a term of service. If a Member serves all required hours and is permitted to conclude his or her term of service before the originally agreed upon end of term, the grantee may not provide a lump sum payment to the Member. Similarly, if a Member is selected after the program’s start date, the grantee must provide regular living allowance payments from the Member’s start date and may not increase or prorate the Member’s living allowance incremental payment or provide a lump sum to make up any missed payments. AmeriCorps Education Award programs may provide a living allowance or other in-service benefits to their Members, but are not required to do so. Full-time fixed amount grantees must provide Members a living allowance.

Living Allowances. A member living allowance is not a wage and programs may not pay living allowances on an hourly basis. Programs must distribute the living allowance at regular intervals and in regular increments. Living allowance payments may only be made to a participant during the participant’s term of service and must cease when the participant concludes the term of service or when instructed by NYC Service. Additionally, the program may not provide a lump sum payment to a participant who completes the originally agreed- upon term of service in a shorter period of time. In addition, the program must adhere to AmeriCorps regulations as they relate to living allowances; in particular, they are not required to provide unemployment insurance or provide fringe benefits.

  • Travelling Allowances (a) If the engagement is for a concert or rehearsal at a venue which is over fifteen miles from the recognised central point of the musician’s normal centre of employment, and alternative transport is not provided and paid for by the engager, a travelling allowance of 36p per mile shall be paid for all miles necessarily travelled on land in reaching, fulfilling and returning from the engagement. ‘Alternative transport’ shall not include the shared use of another musician’s car.

  • Travelling Allowance Where an employee is required to attend or conduct a clinic away from their base hospital, or attend to employer business away from their base hospital, the employer shall, wherever possible, pay all accommodation and travel costs (i.e. the employee shall not be required to pay for such expenses and get reimbursed at a later date). Employees shall be entitled, with prior approval, to claim any actual and reasonable expenses incurred.

  • Training Allowance Operators who are required by the Employer to provide training to a specified level and to certify to the competency of the employees so trained shall receive twelve dollars ($12) per day while training.   • COST OF LIVING ALLOWANCE 29:01 All employees within the Bargaining Unit shall be paid a cost of living allowance based on the cost of living formula as set forth below: The cost of living allowance will be determined in accordance with changes in the Consumer Price Index, published by Statistics Canada (1961 = 100) and hereinafter referred to as the Consumer Price Index. The base Consumer Price Index shall be the Consumer Price Index for February 2016. The first (1st) cost of living adjustment shall be based on the Consumer Price Index of May, 2016, and each three (3) months thereafter compared to the base Consumer Price Index for February 2016. Cost of living adjustments shall be made on pay periods commencing 11:59 p.m. on the following dates: July 5, 2016; October 11, 2016; January 17, 2017; and April 10, 2017. The cost of living rate adjustment shall be One ($0.01) Cent per hour for each point five (.5) change in the Consumer Price Index. The cost of living allowance will be adjusted up or down if and as required for each quarterly period in accordance with the above mentioned formula, provided, however, that in no event will a decline in the Consumer Price Index below the figure as recorded for February, 2016, minus 2.5 points provide a basis for further reduction in the straight time rates set forth in Schedule "A" of the within Agreement. The amount of cost of living Allowance in effect at any time shall be included in computing vacation pay, holiday pay, call-in pay, sick pay, paid leave of absence and Workplace Safety Insurance Board payments. The amount of cost of living allowance shall be included in computing overtime pay except that there shall be no pyramiding as stated in clause 19:06 of the within Agreement. As of June 30, 2016, the cost of living rate adjustment less Five ($0.05) Cents* will be added to the base rates set forth in Schedule "A" in order to create new base rates - said new base rates to be effective as of July 1, 2016. Upon creation of new base rates as provided in the preceding paragraph, a new base Consumer Price Index shall be established and shall be calculated as being the Consumer Price Index for February 2016 minus 2.5 points. This article shall be frozen during the life of the Collective Agreement and no monies will be generated or paid during the term of the Collective Agreement. *The Five ($0.05) Cents referred to was folded into the Base Hourly Wage Rates noted in Schedule “A” effective July 1, 1986. LETTER OF INTENT REGARDING ABSENTEEISM The University of Windsor and C.U.P.E., Local 1001 recognize that some Employees in the Bargaining Unit are using the Sick Leave Plan for illness and various medical appointments above the normal average within the University staff. The Union believes it is the duty of the Employer to manage the Sick Leave Plan and the Union's duty to represent their members eligible to receive sick pay to the best of their ability. To assist the Employer with their concern over the use of the Plan and to protect the interest of the members against any possible erosion of the existing Plan, the Union agrees to counsel all employees by letter and by presentations at general meetings on the need for regular attendance. Further, the Union will encourage members, whenever possible, to schedule appointments after their shift has concluded or as near to the end of their shift as possible.

  • LIVING AWAY FROM HOME ALLOWANCE 27.1 For the purpose of this Clause, a “distant project” is one where the location of the “on-site project work” is such that because of its distance or because of the travelling facilities available to and from the location, it is reasonably necessary for an employee to live and sleep at some place other than his/her usual place of residence.

  • Housing Allowance During the Employment Period, Executive shall be entitled to receive a Cayman Islands housing allowance of US $6,000 per month. Executive will be responsible for any taxes due on such allowance.
