Lieu Time/ Banked Straight Time. (a) Instead of cash payment for overtime, or for straight time banked pursuant to Article 18.01(b)(v) or 18.01(b)(vii), an employee may choose to receive time off at the appropriate rate at a time selected at the discretion of the employee and by mutual agreement. The maximum time off shall be eighty (80) hours per calendar year. Employees who have more than one hundred (100) hours accumulated to their credit as at December 31, in any calendar year, shall have the excess paid out. Any hours or portion thereof under the one hundred (100) hour limit, may at December 31, at the discretion of the employee, be paid out in cash or carried forward.

For work assignments of less than six hours, such employees shall be entitled to one 15-minute break. Employees who spend a majority of the workday working with a Video Display Terminal (VDT) shall be permitted to perform other job-related duties (i.e., work not involving use of a VDT) 10 continuous minutes out of each hour. Such time shall not be cumulative and shall be in addition to break time established above.

  • Lunch Time The “duty free” lunch time for assistants will be the same length as the building lunch time for students provided that the lunch is no less than thirty (30) minutes in length.

  • Wash-Up Time 60.01 Where the Employer determines that due to the nature of the work there is a clear cut need, wash-up time up to a maximum of ten (10) minutes will be permitted before the end of the working day, or immediately following and contiguous to the working day.

  • Overtime Lieu Time Where an employee has worked an accumulated approved overtime hours (other than overtime hours related to paid holidays) such employee shall have the option of electing payment at the applicable overtime rate or time off equivalent to the applicable overtime rate (i.e. where the applicable rate I time and one-half, then time off shall be at one and one-half times. Where an employee chooses the latter option, such time off must be taken within the succeeding two pay periods of the occurrence of the overtime at a time mutually agreeable to the Hospital and the employee, or payment in accordance with the former option shall be made. An employee shall not be required to take time off to avoid payment of overtime.
