License Rights. The Contractor must provide a license to its Subject Data to the Federal Government, which license is royalty-free, non-exclusive, and irrevocable. Uses. The Federal Government’s license must permit the Federal Government to take the following actions provided those actions are taken for Federal Government purposes: Reproduce the Subject Data; Publish the Subject Data; Otherwise use the Subject Data; and Permit other entities or individuals to use the Subject Data. Special Federal Rights in Data for Research, Development, Demonstration, Deployment, and Special Studies Projects. In general, FTA’s purpose in providing Federal funds for a research, development, demonstration, deployment, or special studies Project is to increase transportation knowledge, rather than limit the benefits of the project to STA and its third-party participants.
