Common use of Letter of Agreement Re Clause in Contracts

Letter of Agreement Re. Clause In applying the provisions of Xxxxxx during a reduction of working forces, an employee, who holds one of the specified Union positions, otherthan Depart- ment Xxxxxxx, who on the basis of his actual seniority and subject to would be laid off work under the provisions of Clause will be deemed to have preferential seniority to the extent that he will be placed, subject to Clause on the available job held by another employee who has the least seniority in the Plant. In the case of an employee who holds the position of Department Xxxxxxx on a shift, who on the basis of his actual seniority and subject to Xxxxxx would be transferred off of such shift in accordance with the provisions of Clause he will be deemed to have preferential seniority to theextent that he will be placed, subject to Clause on the availablejob on such shift held by another employee who has the least seniority on such shift. It is further agreed that the granting of preferential seniority to the employees specified above shall not be considered further for the purposes of Clause and shall not be used to deny any other employees of their entitlement under the terms of this Agreement.
