Length of Vacations. Length of Vacations. The scheduling and taking of vacations shall be on a calendar year basis. “Calendar year”, for the purpose of this Agreement, shall mean the twelve (12) month period from January 1, to December 31 inclusive.

A regular employee shall receive an annual vacation with pay in accordance with their years of employment as follows: Less than one (1) year seven percent (7%) of gross pay One (1) year and less than five (5) years 20 working days Five (5) years and less than ten (10) years 25 working days Ten (10) years and over 30 working days A year of service is defined as each twelve (12) month period commencing from the date an employee began as a regular employee.
Length of Vacations. A regular employee shall receive an annual vacation with pay in accordance with their years of employment as set out below. The time entitlement is as set out and the vacation pay shall be based on the percentage of annual gross earnings. It is understood that leaves without pay, increased hours, overtime, etc., may mean that an employee's vacation pay may be more or less than the employee's regular pay for the vacation period. A casual employee shall be entitled to 4% vacation pay, to be paid in the period in which it is earned. The vacation year shall be September 1st to August 31st annually.

Effective March 31, 2006 all full-time nurses shall receive an annual vacation with pay in accordance with their years of employment as follows: Less than one (1) year 1¼ working day for each month of employment One (1) year or more three (3) weeks Three (3) years or more four (4) weeks Eleven (11) years or more five (5) weeks Twenty (20) years or more six (6) weeks Twenty five (25) years or more seven (7) weeks Any change in a nurse’s vacation entitlement in accordance with this Article shall accrue to her/him in the employment year in which it is earned.
