Length of Leave. Birth Mother A pregnant employee shall be entitled to up to seventeen (17) consecutive weeks of maternity leave and up to thirty-five (35) consecutive weeks of parental leave, all without pay. The parental leave must immediately follow the maternity leave. In the event the birth mother dies or is totally disabled, an employee who is the father of the child shall be entitled to both maternity and parental leave without pay.

Length of Leave. Paid parental leaves of absence of up to six (6) consecutive weeks shall be granted to eligible state employees who request such leave following the birth or adoption of a child.
Length of Leave. The family medical leave entitlement period will be a rolling twelve (12) month period measured forward from the date an employee begins family medical leave. Each time an employee takes family medical leave during the twelve (12) month period, the leave will be subtracted from the twelve (12) weeks of available leave.

Length of Leave. The length of a job sharing leave shall be for one (1) school year and may be renewed by the Board if a request to renew is made by the participants. Participants in job sharing positions shall be considered on a leave of absence for that portion of the school work hours and/or days that they are not working.

Leave caused by pregnancy, childbirth or related medical conditions under Section 5.0 of this Article is separate and apart from the provisions of Family Care and Medical Leave herein. Employees are entitled to the leave allowed under Section 5.0 and, in addition, up to the full twelve (12) weeks of Family Care and Medical Leave. However, leave taken on account of pregnancy, childbirth, or related medical condition will be counted against the employee's annual leave entitlement under the federal Family and Medical Leave Act of 1993.
