Leave to Hold Union Office. (a) The Employer shall grant an unpaid leave of absence to an employee who is appointed or elected to a union office for a period of up to and including three years.

Leave to Hold Union Office. In the event an employee desires a leave of absence without pay for a determinate period for the purpose of accepting a position with the Local or Union, such leave shall be granted by the Authority on receipt of a written request from the employee and the President of the Union. This leave may, with the permission of the Authority be extended.
Leave to Hold Union Office. An employee elected or appointed to a full time position with the Union shall be granted leave of absence without pay providing thirty (30) days notice is given the Employer prior to the beginning of such leave. During such leave, seniority shall accumulate. At the end of said leave such employees shall be reinstated to their job. if the job no longer exists, such employees shall have the right to apply for a posting or to exercise their seniority rights. Such official will give thirty (30) days notice of intent to return to their former employment.

  • Union Office Upon application by the Union, in writing, the Hospital will give reasonable consideration to a request for leave of absence, without pay, to an employee elected or appointed to full-time Union office. It is understood that not more than one (1) employee in the bargaining unit may be on such leave at the same time. Such leave, if granted, shall be for a period of one (1) calendar year (in the case of the Union President, two (2) calendar years) from the date of appointment unless extended for a further specific period by agreement of the parties. Seniority and service shall accumulate during such leave to the maximum provided, if any, under the provisions of the Collective Agreement.
