Leave to Attend Employee Organization Meeting. Any employee who is properly elected by his/her fellow employees to represent them at a state, national or international employees' organization officially recognized by the City shall be granted a leave of absence without pay in accordance with the following schedule: national or international meeting, a maximum of five (5) working days; state meeting, a maximum of three (3) working days. Provided, however, that in the event the employee should require additional time for such meetings, it may be granted subject to the approval of the Mayor's Office. The employee shall give a minimum of one (1) week's notice prior to the date of his/her departure for such meeting. Not more than one (1) employee from a single employees' organization shall be granted time off to attend meetings at the same time.
