Leave Surrender. Employee’s may elect to surrender up to ten (10) unused vacation, or two (2) floating holidays in exchange for a direct payment, or a payment to a district sponsored retirement account. The calculation for the amount will be at 50% the employee’s daily rate of pay for vacation days and 100% daily rate of pay for floating holidays. This payment will be issued no later than between July 1 and July 15 of the following school year.

Each employee who wishes to change the effective date of approved leave shall give four weeks' notice of such change unless there is a valid reason why notice cannot be given.

  • Parental/Adoption Leave (a) A nurse who has been employed for at least thirteen (13) weeks and who is a parent of a child is entitled to parental leave without pay following the birth of the child or the coming of the child into the custody, care and control of a parent for the first time, shall be entitled to thirty-seven (37) weeks (provided the employee did not take pregnancy leave) of parental/adoption leave of absence without pay in accordance with the provisions of the Employment Standards Act of Ontario as may be amended from time to time, except as hereunder set out in this article.

  • Leave Rights The parental leave shall begin at any time between a) the commencement of pregnancy or, in the event of adoption, the receipt of custody; and b) six (6) months after the child is born or adopted. Such leave shall be for any period up to one (1) school year, but shall be extended for up to one (1) additional school year at the request of the teacher. A mother or father may use any accumulated sick leave following the birth of a child. For complications during or after the birth of a child that may require extended leave, the mother and/or father may apply for use of the Sick Leave Bank under the provisions of this Agreement.

  • Parental Leave/Adoption Leave An employee will be granted unpaid parental leave for a period up to and including thirty-five (35) weeks, upon request and verification of:

  • Extended Sick Leave When sick leave extends for more than 25 consecutive working days, the appointing authority shall initiate the following procedure:

  • Parental Leave Allowance (a) An employee who qualifies for parental leave pursuant to Clause 26.02, shall be paid a parental leave allowance in accordance with the Supplemental Unemployment Benefit (SUB) Plan. In order to receive this allowance, the employee must provide to the Employer proof of application and eligibility to receive employment insurance benefits pursuant to the Employment Insurance Act. An employee disentitled or disqualified from receiving employment insurance benefits is not eligible for parental leave allowance.

  • Vacation Leave on Retirement ‌ An employee scheduled to retire and to receive pension benefits under the Public Service Pension Plan Rules or who has reached the mandatory retiring age, shall be granted full vacation entitlement for the final calendar year of service.
