Leave for Sickness in the Home. (a) The employer may grant a teacher leave with pay as a charge against the teacher’s sick leave entitlement when the teacher must be absent from work to care for a person who is sick or injured and who depends on the teacher for care.

Leave for Sickness in the Home. (a) The board may grant a principal leave with pay as a charge against a sick leave entitlement when the principal must be absent from work to attend to a member of the household who through illness becomes dependent on the principal. Members of the household may include the principal’s child, partner, or any other member of the principal’s family or household.

  • Leave for Storms or Hazardous Conditions (a) Time lost by an employee as a result of absence or lateness due to storm conditions or because of the condition of public streets and highways or because an employee finds it necessary to seek permission to leave prior to the end of the regular shift must be:

  • Illness in the Family Where no one at home other than the employee can provide for the needs during illness of an immediate member of her family, an employee shall be entitled after notifying her supervisor, to use a maximum of five (5) accumulated sick leave days per illness to care for the member of the family who is ill.

  • Leave for Storm Or Hazardous Conditions It is the responsibility of the Nurse to make every reasonable effort to arrive at their work location as scheduled, however, during storm conditions, when such arrival is impossible, or delayed, all absent time will be deemed to be leave, and the Nurse has the option to:

  • Applicable for Home Care Nurses: In the event that the Employer transfers the delivery of Home Care services to another employer, the Employer shall notify the Union in writing at least ninety (90) days in advance of any transfer of services. The notification to the Union shall identify which services are being transferred, the name of the employer to which the services are being transferred and the names of the nurses within the bargaining unit affected by the transfer of services. At the request of either party, the parties shall meet to discuss the impact of the transfer.

  • Ineligible for Sick Leave Employees are not eligible for sick leave with pay for any period during which they are on leave of absence without pay, under suspension, on strike, on layoff, or locked out.

  • How to Add or Remove Coverage for Family Members If your plan offers family coverage, you must notify your employer if you want to add or remove family members according to the Special Enrollment provisions described above. When adding or removing a family member, inform your employer in advance of the requested effective date and your employer will notify us. All requests must be made through your employer. We cannot directly add or remove coverage for you or your family members.

  • Determination of Service for Sick Leave with Pay Actual time worked and all leave with pay, except for educational leave, shall be included in determining the pro rata accrual of sick leave credits each month, provided that the employee works thirty-two (32) hours or more in that month.

An employee who has used all of his or her sick leave may use vacation leave for sick leave purposes as provided in Article 12.2 B – H.
