LEAVE FOR PROFESSIONAL STUDY. Unpaid Professional leave may be granted on the basis of one (1) full semester or one (1) full year. Such leave is only for full-time graduate study or completion of undergraduate degree. Earned credits must be filed with the Superintendent prior to a return from the leave. Upon request, an extension of one (1) full year of leave may be granted.

LEAVE FOR PROFESSIONAL STUDY a) Professional leave may be granted on the basis of either one full semester or one full year. Request of leave for professional study must be filed ninety (90) days previous to beginning of leave. If requests are placed later than this time, they may be granted if replacement can be obtained.
LEAVE FOR PROFESSIONAL STUDY. APPLICATION: The application for a leave for professional study shall be filed in the office of the Executive Director of Human Resources no later than April 15, or November 1, preceding the term it is desired that the leave become effective. The application will be immediately referred to the appropriate District administrator for consideration and processing. The application should include a description of the program which the applicant plans to pursue during the absence, as well as a statement of the employee’s commitment to return to active service with the Boulder Valley Schools for at least one year. Failure to return for at least one year from a leave shall obligate the employee to refund any monies received under Section E-41.3 unless mitigating circumstances are accepted by the Board of Education as reason for waiving this obligation. In determining his/her recommendation to the Board of Education, the Superintendent of Schools will consider: a) the extent of the applicant’s professional study, growth and contributions during his/her term of service with the Boulder Valley Schools, b) the extent to which study will contribute to the cultural and technical qualifications of the employee for his/her work in the Boulder Valley Schools and c) the length of uninterrupted service in the Boulder Valley Schools. E-41.3 Salary increments or reductions and employee rights will accrue to the employee while he/she is on leave for professional study.
LEAVE FOR PROFESSIONAL STUDY. SCHOLARSHIP: An eligible employee placed upon a leave of absence for professional study may apply to the Board of Education for a scholarship of $750 for one academic quarter, $1000 for one academic semester, or $2000 for a full academic year. Those employees who receive a scholarship shall execute a scholarship agreement with the Board of Education which shall include the following terms:

  • Professional Study Permanent unit members may apply for professional study leave by outlining in writing the plan that is to be followed and the institution to be attended. In addition, a clear statement must be included in the request indicating the need for educational study and the potential value to the District upon completion of such study. (See Appendix A, 4.033)

  • Professional Service Consultant agrees that all services and work performed under this agreement will be accomplished in a professional manner, in accordance with the accepted standards of Contractor’s profession.

  • PROFESSIONAL NEGOTIATIONS A. Not later than March 1 of the calendar year in which this Agreement expires, the Association and the District will begin negotiations for a successor Agreement. Any Agreement so negotiated will apply to all teachers, and will be reduced to writing and signed by the District and the Association.

  • Professional Development Program (a) The parties agree to continue a Professional Development Program for the maintenance and development of the faculty members' professional competence and effectiveness. It is agreed that maintenance of currency of subject knowledge, the improvement of performance of faculty duties, and the maintenance and improvement of professional competence, including instructional skills, are the primary professional development activities of faculty members.

  • Professional Status The Superintendent affirms that he is not under contract with any other board of education covering any part or all of the term provided in this contract. Throughout the contract term, he will hold a valid and appropriate certificate to act as a superintendent of schools in the State of Nebraska which he will register and maintain on file in the school district’s central administrative office. This contract shall not be valid and the Board will not compensate the Superintendent for any service performed prior to the date that he registers his certificate.

  • Clinical 2.1 Provides comprehensive evidence based nursing care to patients including assessment, intervention and evaluation.

  • Professional Conferences Professional conferences are those conferences sponsored by educational organizations, institutions of higher learning, and government and industry concerning teaching, learning and educational research. When a full-time or part-time faculty member’s attendance at a professional conference conflicts with his/her regular assignment, the faculty member must submit a request for attendance to the appropriate Xxxx, Director, or Supervisor. If granted, the attendance at the conference will be considered leave with pay, and a follow-up report of the conference shall be submitted to the appropriate Supervisor.

  • Other Professional Services We will provide you the various implementation-related services itemized in the Investment Summary and described in the Statement of Work.

  • Professional Development Activities Professional development activities are activities initiated by individual faculty members or groups of faculty members and may include attendance at conferences, workshops or seminars which facilitate the following:
