Leave for Illness in Family. Once personal leave is exhausted, teachers would be eligible for a maximum of five (5) days leave for illness in the family at a per diem deduction equal to the per diem substitute rate.

Leave for Illness in Family. Each teacher shall be entitled to leave in case of illness, surgery, accident, or personal caretaking by a teacher which involves a member of the immediate family as defined below. Leave shall consist of three (3) school days per school year. Leave may consist of up to four (4) days if, at the teacher's option, the teacher transfers unused personal business leave to family illness leave. Leave shall not be cumulative nor shall it be deducted from sick leave total. Immediate family shall be considered father, mother, husband, wife, son, daughter, father-in-law, mother-in-law, brother, sister, grandparents, grandchildren, daughter-in-law, son-in-law, or a relative living in the same household. In the event that a teacher has no spouse, he/she may designate a close friend as a member of the immediate family. A Family and Sick Leave Bank application is available in Appendix B at the back of the Agreement.
Leave for Illness in Family. Up to three (3) days per year emergency leave may be granted for illness in the technology staff worker's immediate family. The specific amount of leave allowed is subject to the circumstances. Immediate family is defined as the technology staff worker's spouse, spouse's parent, child, parent, brother, sister or other relative living in the same household as the technology staff worker. Emergency leaves will be cleared through the Superintendent. Emergency leave time will be deducted from the sick leave account.

  • Illness in Family A leave of absence without pay up to one (1) year shall be granted for the purpose of caring for a sick member of the secretary's immediate family. Additional leave may be granted at the discretion of the Board.
