Leave Days for Association Business. The Board shall provide up to twenty (20) days of released time per school year for the handling of Association business as requested by the president of the Association. Such leave days shall be utilized in not less than half-day increments, and notification shall be provided no less than forty-eight (48) hours in advance of their use. No more than two (2) teachers may be absent for this purpose on a given day, and no single teacher may receive more than five (5) such leave days in a school year, unless mutually agreed to by the Board and the Association. The president and officers of the Association may be granted additional released time upon approval of the Superintendent or designee. Payment for union release time will be subject to state law (i.e., union reimbursement for retirement costs, salary, etc.).

Leave Days for Association Business. Upon at least three (3) school days written notice to the Superintendent or his/her designee, the Association President(s) or his/her designee shall be allowed up to ten (10) days release time for Association business out of the District on an annual basis, with no more than ten (10) licensed staff being gone on any given date. Licensed staff on approved Association leave shall receive their regular pay. The Association shall reimburse the District for each day used on the basis of the current daily substitute rate in effect on the date of a student attendance day. In the event a licensed staff is elected to a state or national office, the District will provide an additional six (6) Association leave days that can be used exclusively for scheduled state or national meetings, with the Association reimbursing the District for each day used on the basis of the current daily substitute rate in effect on the date of each leave day. Additional days of release time for Association business may be granted by the Superintendent.

  • Leave for Association Business The Hospital agrees to grant leaves of absence, without pay, to nurses selected by the Association to attend Association business including conferences, conventions and Provincial Committee meetings and to any nurse elected to the position of Local Co-ordinator. The cumulative total leave of absence, the amount of notice, the number of nurses that may be absent at any time from one area and the number of days (including those of the Local Co-ordinator) is set out in the Appendix of Local Provisions. During such leave of absence, a nurse's salary and applicable benefits or percentage in lieu of fringe benefits shall be maintained by the Hospital and the local Association agrees to reimburse the Hospital in the amount of the daily rate of the full-time nurse or in the amount of the full cost of such salary and percentage in lieu of fringe benefits of a part-time nurse except for Provincial Committee meetings which will be reimbursed by the Association. The Hospital will bill the local Association within a reasonable period of time. Part-time nurses will receive service and seniority credit for all leaves granted under this Article.
