Leading Hand. A leading hand is a employee who is given by the company, or the company's agent, the responsibility of directing and/or supervising the work of one or more other persons. Leading Hand. Where the Employer at its sole discretion appoints an Employee as a leading hand, such an Employee shall be paid an allowance of $30.00 per week above the minimum rate of pay for the appropriate classification as set out in subclause 32.1 of this clause, excluding Grounds Supervisor, Transformer Leading Hand and Garden Supervisor.
Leading Hand. An employee who is in charge of a crew and continues to be a working member of the crew.
Leading Hand. In addition to the wages prescribed by this Award, Leading Hands shall be paid $29.80 per week where these employees are employed for not less than 38 hours per week inclusive of statutory holidays and $5.90 per day when required to work less than 38 hours. This additional payment shall be regarded as part of the wage of the employee concerned and shall be taken into consideration in the computation of overtime, payment for annual leave, sick leave, statutory holidays, weekend work etc.
Leading Hand. An employee appointed by the Employer to act as a leading hand will be paid an allowance as set out in Appendix A in addition to the highest rate prescribed for employees under his or her control provided that an employee will only be entitled to the above prescribed allowance where the employee’s skill level grading classification descriptor does not include those core skills which reflect the duties of a leading hand as appointed. There will be no double counting.

The position will involve the supervision of Workshop or Field employees as appropriate and appointments will be made at the company's discretion.
