Laid Off. An employee is said to be laid off when he leaves a DUF6 job classification because of an involuntary reduction in force, and does not continue active employment with the Company.

Laid off regular employees shall be given the first opportunity for part-time work and they will be entitled to the daily call-in guarantee, Section Regulation of New or Part-time The Company agrees that where new or additional part-time employees are required, the Company will contact the Local Union. Employees who were employed by the County prior to January 1, 1991, but who were laid off thereafter shall not be subject to the restrictions of Article 6.3 provided that they are subsequently restored to County employment, rejoin the County retirement system, and are otherwise eligible for retiree medical benefits under this section.
