Labor Laws and Prevailing Wages. Insofar as applicable to the operations, PURCHASER shall comply with all state and federal laws in the employment and payment of labor.

Labor Laws and Prevailing Wages. All work or services performed within the State of California pursuant to this Agreement by Contractor, Contractor’s employees and independent contractors, or Contractor’s subcontractors and its subcontractors’ employees and independent contractors shall be performed by individuals lawfully permitted to perform such work or services in the State of California and/or the United States of America pursuant to all applicable State and/or Federal labor laws, rules and regulations including, but not limited to, any State or Federal law, rule or regulation prohibiting the employment of undocumented workers or any other person not lawfully permitted to perform said work or services in the State of California or the United States of America. Contractor represents that it is an equal opportunity employer and shall not discriminate against any subcontractor, employee, or applicant (“person”) for employment because of denial of family and medical care leave; race; religious creed (including religious dress and grooming practices); color; national origin (including language use restrictions); ancestry; physical disability or mental disability (including HIV and Aids); medical condition (cancer and genetic characteristics); genetic information; military or veteran status; marital status; gender, gender identity, and gender expression; sex (which includes pregnancy, childbirth, breastfeeding and medical conditions related to pregnancy, childbirth or breastfeeding); age or sexual orientation. Unless otherwise permitted under the law, Contractor shall not refuse to hire or employ any such person or refuse to select any such person for a training program leading to employment, or bar or discharge any such person from employment or from a training program leading to employment, or otherwise discriminate against any such person in compensation or in terms, conditions, or privileges of employment.

  • Labour Laws (a) The Contractor shall obtain all relevant labour registrations and comply with all relevant labour laws applying to its employees, and shall duly pay them and afford to them all their legal rights.

  • Prevailing Wages Contractor is aware of the requirements of California Labor Code Section 1720 et seq., and 1770 et seq., as well as California Code of Regulations, Title 8, Section 16000 et seq., (“Prevailing Wage Laws”), which require the payment of prevailing wage rates and the performance of other requirements on “public works” and “maintenance” projects. Since the Services are being performed as part of an applicable “public works” or “maintenance” project, as defined by the Prevailing Wage Laws, and since the total compensation is $1,000 or more, Contractor agrees to fully comply with such Prevailing Wage Laws. District shall provide Contractor with a copy of the prevailing rates of per diem wages in effect at the commencement of this Contract. Contractor shall make copies of the prevailing rates of per diem wages for each craft, classification or type of worker needed to execute the Services available to interested parties upon request, and shall post copies at Contractor’s principal place of business and at the project site. Contractor shall defend, indemnify and hold the District, its officials, officers, employees and agents free and harmless from any claim or liability arising out of any failure or alleged failure to comply with the Prevailing Wage Laws. Contractor and any subcontractor shall forfeit a penalty of up to $200 per calendar day or portion thereof for each worker paid less than the prevailing wage rates.

  • Prevailing Wage The Recipient shall require that all Contractors and subcontractors working on the Project comply with the prevailing wage requirements contained in Revised Code Sections 164.07(B) and 4115.03 through 4115.16;

  • MINIMUM WAGE LAWS A. Pursuant to the United States of America Fair Labor Standards Act of 1938, as amended, and State of California Labor Code, §1178.5, CONTRACTOR shall pay no less than the greater of the federal or California Minimum Wage to all its employees that directly or indirectly provide services pursuant to this Agreement, in any manner whatsoever. CONTRACTOR shall require and verify that all its contractors or other persons providing services pursuant to this Agreement on behalf of CONTRACTOR also pay their employees no less than the greater of the federal or California Minimum Wage.

  • EMPLOYEE RIGHTS AND PROTECTION A. Nothing contained within this Agreement shall be construed to deny or restrict to any employee rights he/she may have under the Michigan School Laws or the applicable laws and regulations. The rights granted to employees hereunder shall be deemed to be in addition to those provided elsewhere.
