Knob/Tube Wiring. The Contractor shall take every precaution possible to prevent the disturbance of knob and tube wiring. If the Contractor disturbs knob and tube wiring or comes across disturbed knob and tube wiring not identified previously by UCAN staff or the General Weatherization Contractor, they shall cease all Work and contact UCAN immediately. The General Weatherization Contractor shall correct all knob and tube wiring. Only after the General Contractor has done so may the Contractor continue work. Knob/Tube Wiring. During the Energy Survey of your home, indications of “knob and tube” wiring were found. This old style of wiring involves individual wires that are run through walls and ceilings in a house, with ceramic “knobs” and “tubes” to prevent contact with wood framing. The knob and tube wiring that has been noted may or may not appear to be active. Even if the observed wiring appears to be inactive, there may still be active knob and tube circuits hidden inside walls or other inaccessible areas of the house. Program guidelines require that you have the home checked by a licensed electrician and certified as being free of all active knob & tube wiring, before insulation and/or air sealing work can be done. Your electrician should fill out and submit a copy of this document to Program Designee in order to verify the absence or inactivity of the knob and tube wiring in the areas of your home where we are proposing insulation to be installed. Due to the liability involved in signing such a form, we suggest you show or describe this form to your electrician before hiring him to inspect your home to be sure he/she is willing to sign it. At 0800 and 2000 hours, all trucks shall be staffed with one (1) officer and four (4) firefighters, and any truck with an inoperative aerial ladder shall be staffed with one (1) officer and five (5) firefighters.

  • PERS Pickup Effective February 1, 2019 compensation plan salary rates for PERS participating members shall be increased by six and ninety five one hundredths percent (6.95%). At that time bargaining unit employees will begin to make their own six percent (6%) contributions to their PERS account or the Individual Account Program as applicable. Employees’ contributions shall be treated as ‘pretax’ contributions pursuant to Internal Revenue Code Section 414(h)(2).
