Jury Duty or Witness Service. (a) A unit member when officially summoned to jury duty or subpoenaed to appear as a witness before any state or federal court, administrative tribunal or legislative body, not as a litigant, may serve or comply with such subpoena without loss of pay, and shall not be required to work on appearance days if a substitute is hired to replace the unit member, if the unit member works swing or evening shift, or if service to the courts or other body equals one-half (1/2) or more of the unit member’s normal work days including travel time. However, any fee or allowance received for such duty served on District time (exclusive of amounts specifically designated for mileage or travel, meals, lodging and parking) will be reimbursed to the District. Such fees, and allowances shall be sent to the Accounting Office upon receipt.

Jury Duty or Witness Service. 5 A Member will not suffer any loss in compensation if he or she is summoned to 6 appear, during the regular workday, as a juror or witness in court, other than as x 7 litigant, or to respond to an official order from a governmental entity. Any payment that 8 an employee receives from such jury duty or witness services shall be remitted to the 9 District, except for mileage and parking.   • Jury or Witness Duty An employee who is not a party to the action and who is absent in compliance with a summons for jury duty or a subpoena requiring the employee to appear in court as a witness shall be excused with pay for the period during which the employee is absent on scheduled days because of such jury service or court appearance. When an employee is excused from jury or witness duty for part of a day or for an entire day, the employee shall report to his or her supervisor in person or by telephone for an assignment.

  • Jury Duty Leave A regular, limited-term or probationary employee who is called for jury duty or for examination for jury duty shall be compensated at the employee's regular rate of pay for those hours of absence due to the jury duty which occur during the employee's regularly scheduled working hours provided the employee deposits the employee's fees for such hours of jury duty, exclusive of mileage, with the County Treasurer. Fees for jury duty performed during hours other than regularly scheduled working hours may be retained by the employee.   • Jury Duty 31.1 An employee who is summoned for jury duty and is required to lose time from his assignment as a result thereof, shall be paid for actual time lost with a maximum of one basic day's pay at the straight time rate of his position for each day lost, less the amount allowed him for jury duty for each such day excluding allowances paid by the court for meals, lodging or transportation, subject to the following requirements and limitations:

  • JURY DUTY PAY All employees required to serve on jury duty shall be paid by the School District the difference between their regular pay and jury duty pay. In implementing this section, the School District shall continue to pay the employee the regular rate of pay and the employee shall be obligated upon receipt of the jury duty pay from the governmental agency to immediately remit any witness fees received to the School District less any mileage expenses. Absences under this section shall not be deducted from accumulated leave.

  • Jury or Witness Leave The Employer shall grant Leave of Absence without loss of seniority to an Employee who is required to serve as a juror or who is subpoenaed to serve as a witness in Court. The Employer shall pay such an Employee their normal earnings. The payment they receive for service as a juror or as a witness, excluding payment for travel, meals, or other expenses, will be returned to the Employer. The Employee will present proof of service to the Employer, along with copies of payment for services they receive as a juror or as a witness.
