Common use of Jury and Witness Duty Pay Clause in Contracts

Jury and Witness Duty Pay. An employee summoned to Jury Duty or Witness Duty where subpoenaed to appear in a court of law, shall be paid wages amounting to the difference between the amount paid him for jury or witness service and the amount the employee would have earned had he worked on such days. Employees will provide a statement from the appropriate authorities showing such pay received. An employee released from Jury or Witness Duty shall return to his or her job if two (2) or more hours of their normal shift can be worked. Time worked in excess of eight (8) hours, combined Jury or Witness Duty and time on the job in one (1) day, shall be paid for at overtime rates.
